Yay! I just ordered my copy of Tantalize, a new and deliciously dark gothic fantasy, which BTW is getting fabulous reviews (check it out at www.cynthialeitichsmith.com ) by my dear friend and fellow Austinite, Cynthia Leitich Smith. Can't wait to read it! Go Cyn!
Well, I did finish Dylan, and I'm happy to say that my lovely editor at Random House is very pleased. The book is scheduled to be released in May 2008. Believe it or not the art department is already having a meeting for cover concepts this week, so I should know pretty soon what they are planning.
Right now I'm relaxing my brain, but also doing a lot of reading/research, letting my mind wander, and considering ideas for another book. At this point I'm torn between a story involving a 19th century artist and his model, or a story about a serial killer. Yes, I realize these two options are vastly different, but that is the great part about writing. All the possibilities!
Also, now that I am between books I've had some smaller victories such as taking Leo, my terri-poo with severe doggie halitosis, to the vet for a teeth cleaning. We are much better friends now.
